Competitive eaters participated in a weigh-in ceremony before the Nathan`s Famous 4th of July hot dog eating contest on July 3, 2026 in New York City. Competitive eaters Joey Chestnut, Patrick Bertoletti, Michelle Lesco, Miki Sudo and Nick Wehry posed for photos during the event. The event was emceed by George Shea, co-founder of Major League Eating. Chugging Champion Eric "Bad Lands" Booker also spoke at the event. Eating 76 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes is currently the record held by Men`s World champion Joey Chestnut. Eating 48 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes is currently the record held by Women`s World Champion Miki Sudo. Nathan`s employee`s displayed hot dogs in those amounts. 5-year-old son of Sudo and Wehry, Max Wehry took as bite from his hot dog.
